Jessica Deneweth Zendler, PhD

Jessica Deneweth Zendler, PhD, holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering (Biomechanics) from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in Kinesiology and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. As a former collegiate athlete, she is passionate about sport and lifelong health. Her research seeks to optimize sport performance and enhance clinical outcomes through applied biomechanics. These include identification of biomechanical patterns that differentiate athletes at high- and low-risk of musculoskeletal injury; utilization of wearable technology to improve on-field assessment, prediction, and prevention of sport injury; improvement of rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols; influence of equipment (footwear, padding) on injury and performance; and role of mobility in improving long-term survival in frail or sick populations.
